Good Deeds for a good cause: Comes back full circle

Congratulations to SloMo for losing that first pound!~The following story is just an example of how your good deeds can come back around to you. (and fast!) Yesterday, in SloMo's honor, I gave someone a $10 discount for a h/c. That was my original good deed pledge. Then (not really feeling like it) I did an unexpected haircut, last minute, and told the girl's mom to consider it a Christmas gift from me. (they are having it hard, as are we, bc my dh is laid off) This morning, the girl shows up at my door with $15.35 (I have not yet been able to understand, why that exact amount) and said that her mom received some unexpected money and insisted that I take it for payment, or a gift for Stephen, from them. I'm going to send extra cookies to them for doing that! See folks? The gift goes on :o) Somebody up there sees and remembers. Look in my other journal (linked in the entry below) for my list of favorite charities, causes and so forth! And don't forget to pay SloMo a visit and congratulate her, and do something nice today! Even if it's just letting someone step inline ahead of you at the grocery store! You never know, maybe if you do, you'll have green lights all the way home.

We used to call that Karma. Giving the haircut surrounded you with good Karma, good was destined to happen. I guess folks don't believe much in Karma anymore though, that was a real sixties thing. I still do though.

Ah, yes... Karma. Yes, I believe very much in that, J ~ and know a lot of folks who still do :) Correct me somebody, if I'm wrong.. is Karma the same thing as spirit? Guess I can go do a google search real quick :P Thanks for the nice words, J.

This is a great story, Mia. I believe in the power of giving. And it doesn't always have to be money. You'd be amazed what a kind word or smile can do for someone who's having a stinky day. It's stories like these that really make me feel hopeful about the state of the world. Keep it up! You're awesome! Definitely one of the most giving people I know! [Don't break yourself, though!] Love you!

Oh that is great Mia! I'm glad you've had fun "passing it on"....I'll make sure I go say congrats to SloMo...I didn't sign up for the pledges cuz I'm not sure I'm smart or creative enough but I'm with y'all in spirit and will try as I can :)

Hey Mygr8, good to see you again! You know.. doing smalll, little things can mean the most to some people. ie: help a fragile little lady load her groceries in the car, drop off some canned goods and macNcheese at a local church for their food banks, etc... I know you can come up with something special, as special as you are! Thanks again for stopping by!

AMEN! The gift is in the giving - let's the energy flow - full circle. I once spent $50 on food for my homeless friends. It was the only "extra" money I had. That same day I got a holiday card from my boss with exactly $50 in it. Great entry Mia - You are a gentle spirit, generous with your love. I love you for you.

Mia....The message is powerful and I know the feeling and peace your message brings. I often speak of how much you and I seem to have in common and at times it is a bit eerie. Are you a daughter or sister switched at birth? LOL
I have just finished a journal entry and linked to read yor latest entries. I was in awe that although our writing styles were different our message was similar.
God Bless You. Brenda

You know, I WOULD let someone in line ahead of me at the grocery store if it meant I'd have green lights all the way home ...

Humor aside, your message is well-taken. And I love the story you shared about how this happened. It's really so easy to be kind to someone else. So very easy.

I wish I was a more kind person. Gulp.

Giving is such a win-win situation. And when it's paid forward or back around, even better!

Thanks for visiting my journal and for the sites you mentioned. Will be checking out Once and Again. Like this particular entry. Like pebbles in a pond, good deeds. What good we do to others comes back to us a thousand fold. Great stuff here. I'll be back. Barbpinion
