Photos: stephen. fall colors on our little street. halloween

In the first 2 photos above, Stephen was resting on the sofa, so he could be ready for Halloween! He had no fever, so we gave him a breathing treatment and let him go around the block. After that, to my brother and sis in law's, and then to the church festival. He ended up having a big night and was wheezing pretty bad by the time we got home. But, we did another treatment, let him have some candy, then a vapor bath and he slept like a baby. In a couple of the photos that were taken on that night, he looks scared to death, bc, he was. Poor thing, I almost didn't let him go to the haunted house that our neighbor had. But, he had a great time after all.

The other photos were taken last week on our street. We were on our way home from the pumpkin patch, the sun was beginning to go down and I wanted to get a few shots of the trees that are just beginning to turn, and the creek is always pretty this time of year. The creek and pasture are behind our house, and the drive home is always so pleasant on that little stretch. Paul was able to pick Stephen up, and walk on rocks to get to the big rock in the middle of the creek. I took the picture from the bridge. Yes, we are so far out, you can actually park your car in the middle of the road & get out to take pictures w/out worrying about backing up traffic. I posted a pic of our speed limit sign, bc I thought some of you (especially, jslack) would get a kick out of our actual speed limit on this street. And sometimes the cattle cross over to the other field and that does back up the traffic, sometimes up to 5 cars! :) You wouldn't know, but behind the patch of trees, beyond the cow pasture, there is a very busy highway! Our town is the largest in the county, and the fastest growing in the state. Sorry, I hate change. I grew up here, and remember when we were a small, little town, right in the middle of Alabama.

Hope you enjoy the photos. I'm too tired to come up with a real subject tonight, so I thought I'd let our latest photos speak for me. It's after 1 am and I'm going to bed now. Stephen will be up early!  I'll try to update soon. When Stephen is well.

Thank you Ann! btw...Isn't it amazing how much clearer pictures are, when viewing them on the computer? Why is it, for example: My roots seem to show so much in these pictures, but not when I look in the mirror? (note to self:Make appt. ASAP for a root job!) So.. you all know, I am not a natural blonde. Neither is my natural hair, straight. The "real" me has wavy, dark reddish brown hair. Being a hair-stylist, I've been a woman of many colors, lol. Oh well, hubby and child took good pics :)

Wow! These pictures are awesome! Were those the pumpkins your husband carved? I've never seen any that great before, beautiful and the costumes, I loved them. .....ah, there's the husband at last. No wonder you fell in love! I see the pail for collecting candy, around here the kids bring around pillow cases, isn't that funny. Scared...kids are supposed to be scared on Halloween. We used to expect that, it's what makes Halloween so much fun.

(sorry, sometimes I get a little too wordy)
Speed limit 15 hahaha, I never saw one that slow before. Great picture of you and Stephen, yup, I see the roots--I think your hair would be pretty with those stripes (sort of) that are the rage right now. Your land is really beautifu with the creek there and the little woods. Short sleeves this time of year, must be a wonderful place to live.

I love the pictue with the sun and trees reflecting in the water--it's really beautiful. You and Stephen on the bridge, really great pictures and I enjoyed them all so much. Never having met you or your family, I feel like I know you. WOW!--even cows, I didn't know you had cows down there in dixie! Great pictures, thanks for posting them.
(Sorry for the three posts but I really enjoyed the pictures and wanted to let you know.)

And there you go again... maybe it's just me. I can't help but gasp and cry when I see Stephen's beauty - then you go and add you to the pic and I'm just ::sigh:: moved to all different shades of gratitude! love to you all. xo

J~Thanks for the comments. I have had my hair chunked about a year ago, but it takes too much time. And the land/creek; sorry to say, we don't own that, we just have the pleasure of driving on that little street on our way home. A Dr. owns all of that. It is just before you get to our place. (which isn't nearly as attractive) and rumor has it, the Dr. may be selling to a developer. If he does, we're moving. I don't want 400 new neighbors and it'll ruin the beauty of the land

Oh, thanks so much for saying that, Mon. and I don't say it, just bc he's mine-but you ar so right! :) Believe it or not, I swear this is true;Sometimes when I check in on him in the middle of the night, he'll be sleeping with a little smile on his face, and I can't help but thank God for him, over and over again. He must be surrounded by angels. We sure feel like we are.

I'm here at Amy's (SloMoGirl) urging and I'm glad I'm here. I saw your Journal when I did the Celeb column write up for Vivan's Journal, but I was on a mission that day and my head was spinning at all of the Journals. Doesn't take much to make this head spin, either.

I'm happy to read that Stephen had a good time. I think you are one of those moms with that something extra . . . the kind that inspire others to want to be better people.

So thanks for sharing your life with all of us

Thank you Andrea. What a sweet thing to say. All of you guys keep me inspired. This AOL-J thing, is almost like moving to a new neighborhood, and getting to know all of your new neighbors. Then, to find out how nice it is, that you really like all of your new neighbors :) To paraphrase the popular song, "what a wonderful world!" :) It's been a great experience, I've enjoyed sharing, and learning about others as well.

Howdy sweetie! Hope Stephen is doing better. I LOVE these photos. You guys look like you had a great halloween. I especially like the first photo of Stephen and the photo of both you and him in front of the field. Lovely! You've described the place where you live in a way that makes me want to visit it!

Yeah, I already commented in here, I know. But I'm back to take another gander at your smiling faces. Besides, Hunny wouldn't let me go to bed without first kissing you two goodnight! xo

What a wonderful story in pictures. The first picture of Stephen's awesome smile is great. What has really captivated me is his beautiful eyes. They say the eyes are the window to the soul...the beauty of his soul really comes through in the beauty of his eyes! Thank you for sharing these wonderful pics of your family with us! Stephen, I hope you're feeling better!
